The O.C.

A couple of weeks ago, I flew down to Orange County, California for a friend's wedding, while James stayed home and took care of Maren. They dropped me off at the airport, and I kept looking back at them and waving as I went through the security line. It was my first trip without Maren, and it was harder for me to go than I thought it would be.

I had a lot of fun in O.C., though. I stayed with Natalie and Sean in Newport Beach, and the weather was fantastic all weekend. On Saturday morning, Natalie and I went for a hike with a beautiful view of the Pacific Ocean. It reminded me of living in SoCal, training for triathlons with Natalie and Sean, and swimming in the ocean in my wetsuit. That was with my pre-baby body, of course! But I'd like to get back to it sometime soon.

Paige flew in that day for the wedding, and Natalie, Paige and I had lunch at a restaurant outside (you can't do that in Seattle at this time of year!) and got pedicures.

Later that afternoon, we drove up to Malibu for Soy and Dave's wedding. It was fun to reconnect with some law school buddies and people I haven't seen for too long.

The setting for the wedding was beautiful, and we could hear the ocean waves from the beach during the ceremony and reception. Here's a picture of the two moms combining sand taken from Guam (where Soy grew up) and Malibu. I loved Mrs. Ahn's traditional Korean dress.

A picture of Soy with her dad. She looked just beautiful!

It was so fun catching up with you! You caught some great pics--especially the one of Soy & her dad.
