Family Photo Shoot

We had a photo shoot on the beach in Edmonds two weeks ago with a local photographer, Heleyna Holmes, who specializes in baby and family photos. Maren was a reluctant participant at first, but warmed up in the end and talked about 'Leyna for a couple of days after the shoot. It helped that Leyna ended by giving Maren a little toy as a gift! The beach was a pretty setting, but next time we think we'll stick with something less messy and more baby-friendly.

Baby Robyn

We had Robyn's 2-month checkup appointment on Friday, and she weighs 13 pounds, 2 ounces now, and is 24 inches long. She's in the 96th percentile for both length and weight!

I've finally gotten around to posting a whole bunch of photos of Robyn that show the night of her birth up to the present. She's a real cutie and looks so much like her sister did as a baby. A friend recently asked me how it's possible that I have an Inuit baby! Robyn definitely has an Eskimo look about her.

Camano Island - July 2010

The girls and I spent Wednesday on Camano Island at Kari's family beach house, and had such a fun day that we decided to convince James to come with us on Friday, too!

I love communal parenting - when our friends get together and our kids play, we can relax and everyone has fun. Even Robyn has a playmate - Isaac Bourne is exactly a week younger than she is, and they spent time hanging out in a baby "tent". Nicci and I enjoyed having someone to sit and talk with as we both nursed our babies. Maren had a great time running around and getting dirty on the mud flats, and floating in the water as the tide came in.
